Surgical Skills Courses Programme

A: Vitrectomy Beginner (Full day course - 20 participants per room)

Participants should have knowledge of cataract surgery. It is not necessary to have performed a vitrectomy before. This course will cover the following:

Thursday 6 September, 09.00 -12.00 | (Briefing in Green 3)

Thursday 6 September, 13.00–16.00 

B. Vitrectomy Advanced  (20 participants per room)

Participants should have some experience in vitreous surgery or have already participated in the beginner course. This course will cover the following:

Friday, 09.00 – 13.00 (Briefing in Green 3):

C: Intravitreal applications of drugs (20 participants per room)

Friday, 14.00 – 15.00

During this course participants will be given an introduction to the pre-operative preparation of the patient, proper draping and drug application. Potential complications as well as the postoperative care will be presented.

Technique will be shown with the use of microscopes.
