Race Information

ON-SITE REGISTRATION

  • Registration opens in front of the ExCel Congress Centre (East Entrance), London at 06.30am
  • All participants must register (£25 fee) on arrival, prior to the start of the briefing and race
  • Participants will receive technical training shirts, race numbers and chip timers at registration
  • Race numbers must be worn during the race
  • Chip timers must be worn to record performance times and allow for selection of fastest times.
    These must be returned on completion of the race or a replacement charge will incur. 

On-Site Facilities:

  • Changing location
  • Supervised storage for participants’ belongings
  • Medical services
  • Refreshments at finishing point (a buffet Breakfast will be offered)

AWARDS CEREMONY

Individual performance times will be recorded electronically to aid efficient and accurate selection of fastest times.

Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded immediately after the race to the top three in both male and female categories. These are divided into four age categories as outlined below.

Age Categories: Under 30 | 30 - 40 | 41 - 50 | Over 50

Euretina is organising the 4th edition of the RETINA RACE – a non competitive road race of 5km, with a race course measured and certified. The start time is 07:00am and the award ceremony will be held at 07:45am. The race time limit is 45 MINUTES. The course will be one loop and will run through the Docklands. The organizing committee reserves the right to modify the course according to needs of the authorities.

PARTICIPATION RULES

The participation to the “RETINA RACE” is open to all born before December 31, 1994, the race is open to all participants.

THE REGISTRATION FEE INCLUDES:

The registration fee €30 includes: start number, chip, official race t-shirt, first aid, bag deposit service, changing location, refreshment points. Registration packs will be available for collection at the Novartis & Alcon Booth on Friday 18th September.

TIMEKEEPING AND RESULTS

Each athlete will receive a chip timer at registration. The chip must be returned to the staff after the race finishes. Athletes that forget to wear the chip or don’t wear it in the correct way, will not have a recorded result in the final ranking.

TIME LIMIT

The time limit for the 5km race is 45 minutes.

START

The start of the 5km non competitive race will be at 07:00 am. It will start and finish at the Promenade des Anglais, Nice.

REFRESHMENT POINTS

There will be two refreshment points: one along the course and one at the end of the race. A light breakfast buffet will also be provided after the race.

FIRST AID

The organizing committee will provide a medical service along the course. The race is covered by insurance.

COMPLAINTS

Complaints regarding the race will have to be presented in writing by the participants, to the race referees up to 30 minutes after the race finishes, together with a fee, which will be returned in case of the acceptance of the complaint.

MEDICAL CERTIFICATE

N. B. Please note that according to French Law all race participants must submit a medical certificate dated from less than one year before the Race-Day signed by a doctor with the mandatory mention: “Mr/ Mrs X is conditioned to participate in the running competition” (French Law Buffet, March 1999).

FINAL CONSIDERATIONS

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to close the registration without further notice and the ability to change the race regulations according to the requirements for improved race organisation.
