Purpose

Methods
this is a retrospective study carried out in the adult ophthalmology department over a period of 46 months
Results
the study included 60 patients, the median age is 42 years old, a slight male predominance was observed (sex ratio = 1.7) the factors that have been studied are: the average time of consultation, initial visual acuity, the average time of the surgical procedure, the type of surgery as well as the internal tamponade
Conlusions
the development of better surgical techniques has made possible to improve the anatomical success rate, which has risen from 70 to 90% the factors of poor visual recovery are the preoperative time interval, postoperative complications such as cataract progression, postoperative macular edema, ocular hypertension, phototoxicity, persistence of sub-retinal fluid under the macula
