Abstract
Popper is a chemical substance consumed by inhalation for recreational purposes given its effects of euphoria, vasodilation, etc. Popper-associated maculopathy has been described in numerous published cases, generally with bilateral and reversible damage. No cases of Popper's maculopathy associated with retinal ischemia have been published to date. It usually present limited involvement of the outer foveal layers as evidenced by Optical coherence tomography (OCT).We present the case of a 51-year-old male patient who presented unilateral visual loss in the context of retinal ischemia with associated maculopathy after Popper use. We evaluated the retinal damage and the evolution by OCT, Autofluorescence and Fluorescein angiography.
