Introduction to Lamellar Macular Defects Course on EURETINA InSight

Welcome to the preview of the Lamellar Macular Defects course by professor Ricarda Schumann, Professor of ophthalmology, Ludwig Maximilians University Munich, Germany.

This interactive course is available on the EURETINA Insight platform, alongside over 40 other courses, that EURETINA members can access for free.

The full Lamellar Macular Defects course covers:

  • the natural history of lamellar macular holes, and the features seen in tractional and degenerative cases;
  • the prognostic factors that effect the visual functional outcome in non-operated eyes, when cases are differentiated by degenerative and tractional subtypes;
  • and, the considerations for lamellar hole surgery with regards to tractional and degenerative subtypes, and the features found in degenerative lamellar macular holes that likely result in these cases having a less favourable outcome, compared to tractional subtypes.
