Submit Abstract

General Terms & Conditions

– The Free Paper & e-Poster submission closing date is Wednesday 12th March, 2025 (23:59 CET).

– Please note that you must be a Euretina Member in order to submit a Free Paper or e-Poster abstract. If you are not a member please CLICK HERE to join. 

– Presenting authors must be ophthalmologists or researchers.

– Co-authors must be ophthalmologists, other healthcare professionals or researchers who have contributed to the project.

– Each applicant may submit a maximum of 2 Free Paper abstracts and 2 e-Poster abstracts.

– Free Paper abstracts will be considered for oral presentation either in a Session Room or in Speakers’ Corner. Free Paper abstracts not selected for oral presentation may be offered an ePoster presentation instead.

– e-Poster abstracts will be considered for display on designated computer terminals in the congress centre.

The August Deutman Award will be awarded to the best Free Paper and ePoster at the Congress Opening Ceremony. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted in advance and must be present in order to receive their prize.

– If you choose to submit an abstract(s) we will use your personal details to keep you updated on its status including whether it has been accepted for presentation at the Euretina Paris Congress.

– You will be informed of the status of your abstract/s in May 2025.

If your abstract(s) is accepted for presentation at the Euretina Congress your contact details (name and email address) will be sent to a third-party Audio-Visual Company in order for them to contact you in relation to uploading your presentation.

Abstract Requirements

– All submitted abstracts must include the presenting author’s name.

– Financial Disclosure: Please indicate Yes/No with details where applicable. Indicate whether the presenting author or any co-author has a financial interest in the subject matter or receives funds from any mentioned companies.

– All submitted abstracts must be in English and follow the structured format below:

  • Title (250 characters max / Average 50 words)
  • Purpose (100 words max)
  • Setting/Venue (50 words max)
  • Methods (200 words max)
  • Results (200 words max)
  • Conclusions (200 words max)

– Presentation titles must not include company names.

– Accepted presentations must not include company branded slides.

– The summary of results presented must be given in sufficient detail to support the conclusions. The Review Committee will only accept abstracts with final results or conclusions.

– Formulae should, in general, be avoided.

– When using abbreviations or acronyms for the first time, care should be taken to spell them out in full with the abbreviation in parentheses after the full word(s) the first time it appears in the text. The abbreviation should be used alone thereafter.

Review & Evaluation

– All submitted abstracts will be reviewed before a final selection is made.

– Specific topics that need to be covered in the Congress programme will be considered before making the final selection of accepted abstracts. The decision of the Euretina Review Committee is final.

– If you wish to withdraw your accepted abstract from the Congress programme, you must confirm via email to [email protected] by mid-August, 2025.

– There is an embargo on accepted presentations until the first day of the Congress programme.

– Please note that you must be a Euretina Member in order to submit a Video. If you are not a member please CLICK HERE to join. 

– Presenting authors must be ophthalmologists or researchers.

– Co-authors must be ophthalmologists, other healthcare professionals or researchers who have contributed to the project.

– Each applicant may submit a maximum of 2 videos.

– Video submissions will be reviewed as part of the annual Euretina ‘Video Competition Awards’, which will take place during the Congress in Paris. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted in advance and must be present in order to receive their prize.

– All accepted videos will be displayed on designated computer terminals in the congress centre.

You will be informed of the status of your video/s in May 2025.

– If you choose to submit a video(s) we will use your personal details to keep you updated on its status including whether it has been accepted for presentation at the Euretina Paris Congress. If your video(s) is accepted for presentation at the Euretina Congress your contact details (name and email address) will be sent to a third-party Audio-Visual Company in order for them to contact you in relation to uploading your presentation.

Process for Video Submission

Submit your Video Description before the deadline of 12th March, 2025. The week after the deadline you will be contacted by email with a link to upload your video to a dedicated platform. The deadline to submit your video is Wednesday 16th April, 2025.

STEP1 – Submission of Video Description

– Videos must be submitted in the presenting author’s name.

– Financial Disclosure: Please indicate Yes/No. If applicable, please indicate whether the presenting author or any co-author has a financial interest in the subject matter or receives funds from any mentioned companies.

– Video submissions must be in English and follow the structured format:

  • Title (250 characters max / Average 50 words)
  • Video description (250 words max)

– Video titles must not include company names.

STEP2 – Submission of Video

– The total duration of the video, including title and credits, must not exceed 8 minutes.

– Videos must not be company branded.

– Videos must include a narration; music alone will not be accepted.

– The title and narration of the video must be in English.

Review & Evaluation

– Specific topics that need to be covered in the Congress programme will be considered before making the final selection of accepted videos. The decision of the Euretina Review Committee is final.

– If you wish to withdraw your video from the Congress programme, you must confirm via email to [email protected] by mid-August, 2025.

– There is an embargo on accepted presentations until the first day of the Congress programme.
