General Terms & Conditions
– Please note that you must be a Euretina Member in order to submit a Free Paper or ePoster abstract. If you are not a member please CLICK HERE to join.
– Presenting authors must be ophthalmologists or researchers.
– Co-authors must be ophthalmologists, other healthcare professionals or researchers who have contributed to the project.
– Each applicant may submit a maximum of 2 Free Paper abstracts and 2 ePoster abstracts.
– Free Paper abstracts will be considered for oral presentation either in a Session Room or in Speakers’ Corner. Free Paper abstracts not selected for oral presentation may be offered an ePoster presentation instead.
– ePoster abstracts will be considered for display on computer terminals in the Poster Theatre.
– High scoring ePoster abstracts will be considered for inclusion in a Poster Session in the Poster Theatre.
– The August Deutman Award will be awarded to the best Free Paper and ePoster at the Congress Opening Ceremony. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted in advance and must be present in order to receive their prize.
– If you choose to submit an abstract(s) we will use your personal details to keep you updated on its status including whether it has been accepted for presentation at the Euretina Vienna Congress.
– If your abstract(s) is(are) accepted for presentation at the Euretina Vienna Congress, your contact details (name and email address) will be sent to a third-party Audio-Visual Company for them to contact you in relation to uploading your presentation.
– AI tools: Authors remain fully responsible for all submitted content. AI tools may be used to support language editing/formatting, but must not be used to fabricate or falsify data/results, references, or scientific claims. Any substantial AI-generated content (text, images, audio, or video) should be disclosed at submission (tool used and purpose). All content must respect copyright and confidentiality; no identifiable patient data should be entered into AI tools unless appropriate consent and compliant data processing are in place.
– You will be informed about the status of your abstract/s by the end of May 2026.
Abstract Requirements
– All submitted abstracts must include the presenting author’s name.
– Financial Disclosure: Please indicate Yes/No with details where applicable. Indicate whether the presenting author or any co-author has a financial interest in the subject matter or receives funds from any mentioned companies.
– All submitted abstracts must be in English and follow the structured format below:
- Title (250 characters max / Average 50 words)
- Purpose (100 words max)
- Setting/Venue (50 words max)
- Methods (200 words max)
- Results (200 words max)
- Conclusions (200 words max)
– Presentation titles must not include company names.
– Accepted presentations must not include company branded slides.
– The summary of results presented must be given in sufficient detail to support the conclusions. The Review Committee will only accept abstracts with final results or conclusions.
– Formulae should, in general, be avoided.
– When using abbreviations or acronyms for the first time, care should be taken to spell them out in full with the abbreviation in parentheses after the full word(s) the first time it appears in the text. The abbreviation should be used alone thereafter.
Review & Evaluation
– All submitted abstracts will be reviewed before a final selection is made.
– Specific topics that need to be covered in the Congress programme will be considered before making the final selection of accepted abstracts. The decision of the Euretina Review Committee is final.
– If you wish to withdraw your accepted abstract from the Congress programme, you must confirm via email to [email protected] by the end of August, 2026.
– There is an embargo on accepted presentations until the first day of the Congress programme.
