Euretina encourages delegates to use Vienna’s underground, tram and bus network for journeys within the city. It provides a direct, practical alternative to taxis and private cars for most journeys to and from VIECON. 

Delegates may purchase an unlimited public-transport ticket at the discounted Congress rate during registration. The ticket is valid within Vienna’s core public-transport zone from 29 September to 5 October 2026. Airport services are not included.

Euretina delegates can also access an ÖBB reduced-rate booking offer for rail travel. Details and the booking code are available on the Travel Details page.

Important notice for October 2026: Vienna’s S-Bahn main line between Wien Hauptbahnhof and Wien Praterstern is closed for major renovation works from 7 September 2026 until late October 2027. This affects some of the usual connections between the airport and the city centre. We recommend checking current timetables via the Wiener Linien journey planner or ÖBB before travelling.

Yes, you will receive a maximum of 25 CME credits for digital participation.

Digital participation is an option for delegates who are unable to travel to Vienna or who prefer to follow the scientific programme remotely.

Yes, CME credits will be awarded to all delegates who attend the Congress virtually between 4 October and 31st December 2026.

Access to the live recordings is available on the app or platform, in the menu “Live”. Please log in with the same email address and password as used for registration, or use the QR code on your badge to log into the app. In case you do not remember your password, a new one can be requested by clicking on “forgot password?”.

All sessions will take place in Central European Summer Time (CEST).

To participate in the hybrid Congress and to access the web content, you need an internet-enabled device with a browser and a speaker. For optimal user experience, we highly recommend to use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browser. The digital conference platform is not accessible on Safari. Please ensure that the latest versions of operating systems and browsers are installed. We advise to regularly clear your browser’s cache memory to reload the currently open page and override the locally cached version (clear cache) on Chrome/Firefox please press “Ctrl + F5” or “Ctrl + Shift + R” short keys on your keyboard. The Internet download speed should be at least 5 Mbit/s, which is generally guaranteed by the vast majority of WLAN connections. In public WLAN networks, the Internet speed may not be sufficient.

Please note that multiple simultaneous connections using the same login details is not possible.

The Euretina 2026 digital Congress platform will close on 31 December 2026 (23:59 CET).

In the “My Congress” area, you have direct access to your personalised content. In “My Account” you can view your programme favourites, complete the congress evaluation and download your certificates (available as of Sunday,4 October 2026).

There will not be an Exhibition on the virtual meeting platform. There will be an exhibition at the in-person Congress in Vienna. However, on the virtual platform you can see a list of Exhibitors who will be participating in the Congress and a description of the company in case you want to contact them directly.

Only Wetlabs require an additional registration; seats are limited, a fee applies. All other sessions are accessible without additional registration.

The recording of the live sessions at Euretina 2026 will be made available on-demand within 24 hours after the end of the session.

The stream of the live session starts at the time of the session. You can find an overview of all currently streams in the menu tab “LIVE”. For more information about the scientific programme, please go to the menu tab “PROGRAMME” and then to “Full Programme Overview”. During sessions, delegates may ask questions using either the microphones in the lecture halls or the congress app. To ask a question on the congress app, go to “Interactive Participation”.

You can ask your questions to the presenters within the live stream. Simply enter your question in the “Questions & Answers” tab. The chairs will then decide which questions will be answered during the Q&A / discussion time in each session.

The live stream cannot be paused, as the sessions and presentations are streamed live. However, you can watch all sessions afterwards as on-demand video.

All abstracts selected for ePoster will be displayed on ePoster terminals in the Poster Hub (Hall A). No narration is recorded. Instructions are sent out to all selected presenters.

All video competition submissions will be available to view at the ePoster Terminals. The winners of the Video Competition will be announced on Thursday 1 October during the Opening Ceremony Euretina Lecture & August Deutman Awards, which begins at 16.15 in the Room 1.

Euretina has introduced a range of practical measures for the 26th Annual Congress in Vienna. These include hybrid access to scientific content; vegetarian and vegan menus at official Euretina events; digital programme information and ePosters; clearly labelled waste-sorting points; water-refill stations; and sustainability guidance for exhibitors.

Euretina aims at organising the Congress according to the criteria of the Austrian Ecolabel for Green Meetings for the first time.

Following the Congress, Euretina intends to publish a sustainability report including the Congress carbon footprint.

Train: Vienna is well integrated into the European rail network, with direct connections from many major cities. EURETINA delegates can access an ÖBB reduced-rate booking offer for rail travel; details and the booking code are available on the Travel Details page.

Within Vienna, Messe-Prater station on the U2 line is directly outside VIECON. Exact routes between Hauptbahnhof, Vienna Airport, the city centre and the venue are listed on the Travel Details page.

Tickets: Delegates may purchase an unlimited public-transport ticket at the discounted Congress rate during registration. The ticket is valid within Vienna’s core public-transport zone from 29 September to 5 October 2026. Airport services are not included.

Congress participants can use complimentary 60-minute Nextbike rides, subject to availability. Download the Nextbike app, create an account and collect a voucher code from the Train Tickets & Bike Voucher desk in the Congress entrance hall. Enter the code in the app to unlock a bicycle.

Please bring a refillable water bottle or reusable coffee cup if you have one. Water-refill stations will be available throughout the venue.

Please use the clearly labelled bins provided for recycling, organic waste and residual waste, and use the Congress app and digital programme materials where these meet your needs.

Yes. The Euretina Charity 5K takes place on Friday, 2 October 2026 at 06:30 CEST, starting outside the main entrance of VIECON. It is open to delegates and industry colleagues. Registration and further information are available on the official Euretina Run page.

For security reasons, please be informed that suitcases, larger bags and backpacks are not allowed within the congress area and have to be stored at the cloakroom in the entrance area. The cloakroom is situated on level -1 of the entrance hall, free of charge and signposted accordingly. We recommend leaving larger bags, backpacks and suitcases at the hotel in order to prevent long queues and to only take your handbag to the congress.

A room of silence / prayer room is available to the participants throughout the whole congress. It is located on level -1 of the congress center.

Euretina offers a professional childcare service at the Congress venue for children aged 0 to 14 years, provided by Wiener Kinderfreunde.

Infants up to the age of 1 year may accompany a parent to the Congress, provided they remain under the parent’s supervision and do not disturb the scientific sessions.

Except for infants up to the age of 1 year and children attending the official childcare service, children and young people under the age of 18 are not permitted to enter the Congress.
