Surgical management of a case of a 360 degree giant retinal break
This video demonstrates a method of managing a traumatic 360 degree retinal detachment. The author decided to treat by utilising a 23 gauge pars plana vitrectomy with the use of Chandelier in a bimanual technique.
During the procedure the surgeon found that the retina was folded posteriorly, in order to unfold the retina he used the vitrector to hold and unfold the retina.
This video is a good example of the surgical techniques that can be used to deal with total retinal detachment.
