Results
A 10 year- old-boy presented with left exotropia to perform strabismus surgery. Coats’disease was diagnosed 3 years ago treated with cryotherapy. Left visual acuity was 10/10 in the right eye with no light perception in the left eye. Slit-lamp examination revealed total retinal detachment with abnormal retinal blood vessels and subretinal exudation in the left eye. B-scan ultrasonography of the temporal periphery reveals a total retinal detachment, and highly reflective foci consistent with intraretinal calcifications. MRI was performed showing no solid mass.
Conlusions
We present a case of Coats’disease with extensive retinal detachment and intraretinal calcifications.
